Currently, I am listening to "The Assasination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand" since I did not really understand the causes behind WWI. It is a fascinating glimpse into the life and times of the aristocracy in 19th and early 20th century Eastern Europe. Quite a mess - still is, for that matter. I think it is important to know what happened, so we can learn from it. I am not a history teacher (I teach HS band and orchestra), but I have been in the Air National Guard for 18 years and I find all military history very interesting.
